When he was on the team, pre 2010 WC, was the most exciting USMNT I have every seen.

But just the over all atmosphere around the team. Before and after we beat Spain, and almost beat Brazil there was just an electric feeling that I didn't really witness with this team.
While this team is technically better there was just a different feeling of hope when Davis and Altidore up top, Dempsey playing great, and Donovan in his prime. Holden seemed like he was destined for great things. Bradley first coming on the scene and no one really knew what the expect, but looked good. Boca, Cherundolo, and the feel good story of Demerit.

I will say that it will be sad when this World Cup ends for the US because it will also be the end of our first real golden generation (Donovan, Cherundolo, Beasley, Bocanegra, Dempsey, O'Brien, Gooch, etc.)

I agree and I'm glad you included Beasley. He was my first real favorite USMNT player. Before the 2010 WC I had almost all but given up hope on him, and very glad he proved me wrong in coming back strong.

Dude was fast, and I felt like we had won the World Cup when he scored on that break away at Azteca.

The Landon/Davies link up counter attack goal vs Brazil in the 2009 Confed Cup was my favorite USMNT goal of all time

That was the best moment ever.

So much swag between Jozy and Davies. The perfect holdup/speed combo that could have been together for 3 world cups. fricking waste.
