Is that the Florida player? I figured he would get drafted.

Yes. He'll be good depth because I'm expecting 1 of Withey/Ajinca to be a casualty of the Asik deal. He measured out small though. His most similar body types were Carl Landry and Lou Amundson. Based on playing style I'm expecting Lou Amundson with about 25 lbs of muscle added.

Here's Patric Young playing volleyball.

Cause you know, why not.

Here he is being strong as Frick

And on a more serious tone, here's his scouting report including strengths AND weaknesses.

Seems like a perfect energy bench guy. Nice personality, hope he makes the team.

Undersized. Poor rebounder. Can give you much offensively. I'd be shocked if he made the team.

So is the plan to sign all C/PFs and PG/SGs? 'Cause that's kind of what we're doing.

Looks like they may be solving the we-don't-have-a-3 issue by just not worrying about it lol.

We are going with 1s and 2s and 4s and 5s!

They're signing summer league bodies. No reason to be chasing position at that point.

Good for him, I hope he does well. Definitely a great person, though.

Thats literally exactly what we need We have a team dominated by guards right now.

I like that we are giving him a chance. Hes been 1 of my favorite college players these last few years. Plays all out.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't make the team. His heart and soul is defense and hustle. Not to mention toughness. All traits we're lacking from guys like Withey and Ajinca. Williams and his staff will absolutely love him. Williams and co loves these type of players.

He throws up some ridiculous, ugly shots

Love his energy, though. We need a guy like that. He will be a fan favorite if we sign him. Reminds me of a poor man's Ben Wallace

The guy is a UDFA that got invited to play on the Summer League team. Assuming Ajinca and Withey don't get traded, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Young doesn't make the team.

Ofcourse you're not. you're looking at him with the UDFA tag attached to his name.

Whereas I'm looking at his skillset and how he could fit onto the team. We sign UDFAs every year. Whether they work out or not is another story.

But the team has always regretted letting these type of players slip out of their hands. We don't overlook players because they weren't drafted. We look for skillsets and ability.

Young definitely has some ability and it doesn't show up well on stats. His ability to defend, block shots, and grab offensive boards are all positives that Williams and Demps will consider. We love under-appreciated talent. Our roster is made up of those types and Young fits that category.
