3. Clint
4. Tim Howard
5. Besler

Obviously the whole team is up for discussion. Give me your top 5

Jones
Johnson
Howard
Dempsey
Besler

Now, I think they are all close from 2-5 but Jermaine Jones has been head and shoulders better than everyone else.

The only ones out of those I had an easy time picking were Jones and Howard. I don't feel like Howard's been bad, just not sure he's really played up to his potential.

I almost put Dempsey four and Besler two, fwiw.

Consensus on the top 5, impressive.

Beasley and Beckerman have done extremely well playing within themselves.

Omar was a stud today, but it's tough to rank him top 5 based on one game.

5. Howard

At times, Johnson is the only one who looks like he belongs at this level.

Zusi's performance has been shocking to me.

As a whole, I believe I greatly over-estimated this team's technical ability and soccer smarts.

It's a testament to the collective will of the team that we made it through.

Zusi has been underwhelming.

I agree with this. Regardless of who we play, Fab is the 1 guy that constantly looks like he belongs out there with the elite and can play with anybody, along with Timmy obviously. He's gonna get signed to a big club soon. He's showing the entire world what he's capable of.

Zusi looked bad vs Portugal but thought the was better today. Still wanna slap him for the corners he's been delivering. That was his strength 2 weeks ago. Now his crosses typically miss everyone and go out of bounds. Weird. Most likely nerves, but still we need to do better from corners.

I'd put Beckerman in my top 5. He's been very good and proved all my criticisms of him wrong.

Fabian and Howard look like they could play at any club and pull their weight.

He's done pretty well, but he is REALLY playing within himself. It gets frustrating watching him pass the ball backwards so often. He's made a couple of incisive moves forward, though.

I'm hoping Jurgen goes less conservative now that he has achieved the main goal.

Jones Bradley
Bedoya Mix Dempsey
Aron

Sad to say, but I think it times to end Bradley's run at the top of the midfield.

Then you have to Christmas tree it. You cannot bench Kyle.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I would bench him before Jones or Bradley.

1. Jones - no explanation needed
2. Clint - 2 goals
3. Besler - rock solid in all 3 matches
4. Fabs - good all around but didn't have an impact today
5. Howard - doesn't make any mistakes, a few clutch saves (on Eder in Game 2 especially)
6. Dreads - does exactly what we needed from him - better composure than Bradley. He is our "hard man"
7. Zusi - solid but unspectacular
8. Gonzo - did well today
9. Beasley - see Zusi
10. Bradley - in poor form currently, poor 1st touch and composure. Decent performance vs. Portugal other than last second derp
11. Yedlin - helped score 2nd goal vs. Portugal
12. Cameron - directly responsible for the Portugal draw
13. Bedoya - non-factor
14. Davis - non-factor and conceded the unnecessary corner that lead to Germany goal

I didn't rate Brooks - he's obviously a hero but has only played 10 mins or so

Agreed with that, but don't bench any of them.

Kyle-Bradley-Jones
Bedoya-Mix
Demspey

Just a thought. Let Bradley move up from where he is more comfortable.

I am okay with three DM's at this point because I highly expect to defending a lot based on today and every game forward.

Beckerman has been integral to the squad you can't bench him. We've really only been scored on once through the normal run of play, against Ghana, and a large part of that you can chalk up to beckerman

This really tells the tale regarding Bradley's performance. He is the one player who is tactically given the most freedom within the team. He has to cover an insane amount of ground in order to launch attacks and track back to prevent a counter. Not to mention, he's the only player who actually presses opponents in possession, because we drop so deep without the ball.
