Cost of Re-Doing a Pool?

There is a house that we might consider buying, but I don't like the backyard pool setup at all.
How big of a deal is it to take out a pool and hot tub and just start from scratch, versus installing a pool in an empty yard? Extra $5000, $10000?

Will pool be in same spot?

Yes. It will be in the same spot but larger, overlapping some of the area that is currently hot tub. and the hot tub would be in what is now grass.

Had a fiber glass pool removed about 5 years ago, drained, everything totally removed, and hole filled, was $15,000.00. Have a friend that is getting his gunite pool stripped and re-sprayed, so far estimates are also around $15,000.00

It cost me $10k to replaster and install all new coping, I'd imagine you would spend double or triple to do what you're talking about.

Current pool fiberglass or concrete. What will the new pool be?
