So I'm going to Vegas next week.

I don't have much experience with betting baseball. Anyone have any advice? What to look for? Types of betting? Anything would help. Also thinking about betting on some world cup games but that seems so risky. TIA

I like hanging out in sports books, and it sounds fun.

How does this work? Is it a betting line?

So true. I feel like betting on pitchers is safer than betting on teams.

The team with the most runs usually win.

Pitching matchups and trends. I'm 62% on mlb so far, best I've ever done. I need to quit before I give it all back

Just do a little homework

Definitely, but if i'm out in Vegas and its the only thing to bet on I will.

OP bet the over in the highest total on the board and the under in the lowest. Thats always fun.

Take the under in the first 5 innings when 2 star pitchers are going at it

Yes, they have a 5 inning line for every game.

You can bet the ML, the run line, or the O/U for the first 5 innings or for the full game for every single game.

5 innings can be a good bet if there is a very favorable pitching matchup.

I wouldn't recommend spending a lot betting on baseball if you have never done it before. Baseball is the most unpredictable game there is. You can look at a matchup all night long and the think that the pitcher should dominate the lineup and then the lineup comes out and puts up 8 runs on that starter. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense.

Free advice to the OP - Don't listen to any of the generic blanket statements such as this one.

Then why bother trying to provide tips then?

It's a gut-wrenching affair. Bullpen derps and unearned runs will make you hate yourself

Matchups are key - if you follow baseball closely you can pick up on subtle trends, such as how teams typically perform against LHP/RHP, etc.
