Finally making the switch from the iPhone, what're some must have apps for the droid? What's the best keyboard and what's the best site to keep up with all the new features and apps?

TIA!

Lots of good Android forums some, brand & model specific. Nothing wrong with the Google keyboard but I've used SwiftKey for so long I'm married to it - the ultimate in customizable design. FWIW, SwiftKey keyboard will be available on iPhone with IOS8.

Google Rewards - random survey for play credits
Tapatalk - Forum app <-- don't you have to pay for this?
Weatherbug Elite - Weather <-- whats so great about this?
Zedge - wallpapers <-- thanks for turning me on to this. sort of the 'textra gif option' for sounds

UTorrent - Torrents <-- this actually work? do you really torrent on your phone?

Google Keep - Notes <-- YES!
Chrome/Dolphin/Opera - Browser <-- stick with chrome; especially after that IO session today

Tasker - automated tasks

GSam battery manager - know what your device is doing <-- you need ROOT to properly run this against system apps which is where you generally run into wakelocks

Business Calendar Pro - Great calendar <-- what does this do you don't get from google calendar?

Google drive - cloud storage <-- YES! not to mention google apps are the best thing ever.

No, not anymore.

Nothing, it's just a weather app that I listed from my app list.

Yep (Need AVG with it though lol)

Awesome widget and it always works. I don't know how the new google calendar is but I got this app a long time ago while the google one didn't have a widget worth anything.

I don't think those apps are relevant anymore (maybe wrong) but I heard snapdragon battery saver (sp?) is the best...

Latest SwiftKey update ruined it for me. It's really slow to load now. I'm using Google keyboard for the first time in awhile.

Congrats on the best decision of your tech life

Swiftkey is the best keyboard hands down.

Ive heard good things about hangouts as a message app as of late, but I still use textra.

Chrome for your browser

Themer by colorscreen or Aviate as your launcher

Cover as your lock screen, although it is very similar to aviate

dropbox to save files

Google play music for 10 bucks a month is a must for me

snapchat saver-lets you save snaps without people know you did

ATT visual voicemail

Thats a good start for ya
