Last nite I enjoyed watching the documentary/retrospective on Steve McQueen's film career on Spike.

He made a lot of blockbuster films, was the epitome of cool, but was never really considered a "great actor" by his Hollywood peers and critics- his only Oscar nomination was for The Sand Pebbles (1966).

What is your favorite Steve McQueen movie?

Mine has always been The Getaway.

I see what you did there. If you went that route, the correct answer is Hunger by the way

Such a cool mother fricker.

I haven't seen Papillon but Adam Carolla raves about it on his podcast. I need to check it out.

It's his best acting performance, IMO. And Dustin Hoffman is great in it as well. Strange movie, but a really cool watch.

Awesome flick. Can be slow at times but his best work.

The scene where he pulls his tooth out while he is dying/wasting away in solitary confinement- so awesome- you can literally read the pain and desperation on his face.

It's my second-favorite tooth-pulling scene in a film- the first is Richard Burton pulling John Hurt's tooth out in the torture/interrogation scene in 1984.

I am a big McQueen fan. I found this book very interesting. She admits to boinking another famous actor while Steve was out of town. She never says who but Steve was never able to get over it yet he cheating openly.
