I say #5 at Santa Maria from the very back is harder than any par 3 at Atchafalaya. Debating with Brgetthenet
What say you?
What say you?

From the other thread. #5 at Santa Maria.. playing in the neighborhood of 225-230

I've never played atchafalaya from the tips but I'm still saying Santa Maria

That is a bitch of a hole from 160. I might have to play it back there next time just to get a taste.

Anything right at all is either green or bayou. It never stays up

And I'll add that #5 at SM is the 16 handicap hole, lol at that bullshite
Posted on 6/23/14 at 6:51 pm to Random LSU Hero
And what else gets lost about that hole is the bunker is never raked its a crap shoot what lie youll get in there

That cart path laughs as it skyrockets your ball into the bayou

I hit the cart path once and ended up on the white tees for number 6. so 60 yard pitch back

All as hard or harder to par than #5 at Santa Maria.
If you wanna have a debate about which green is harder to hit, you may win. But paring those 4 holes is every bit as hard at the #5 at SM.

and happy to have that weren't you?

so which is it?
Ive only played Atchafalaya once and it was a long time ago and I was a hack. I can not imagine those holes all being harder. If you miss SM 5 by feet (not yards) its gone.

Describe the holes at Atchafalya.

What's to the right of the path, OB?
And water to the left?
Damn.

Damn.

Lake to the left and behind the green. Bayou to the immediate right. Bunker and slope of the area in front of the green prevents you from just laying up 30 yards short.

Most of the time the un-raked crappy bunker is a very good place to be if you can't hit the green. I have been lucky enough to have it hang up in the rough left before.

I'll give you this BR... the drop zone is pretty generous at SM #5. Thats the nicest part about the hole
