Interesting, hope this arse gets sent packing.

Through immigration and redistricting, what is now New York’s 13th Congressional District — a seat Rangel has held since 1971 and viewed as the center of New York’s modern black political power structure — has experienced a seismic demographic shift from majority black to majority Hispanic.

Hoping to seize on those demographics as well as the perception of Rangel’s waning political power in the years since Congress formally censured him in 2010 for ethics violations, state Sen. Adriano Espaillat is mounting a spirited challenge to the 22-term incumbent — a rematch of the 2012 race in which Rangel topped Espaillat by just 1,000 votes.

I hate Charlie Rangel. And that has nothing to do with his race, he'd be an a-hole if he was plaid.

Or change your lineage.

He has unleashed pointed attacks at Espaillat and is stressing his ties to the Hispanic community, noting in stump speeches that he is part Puerto Rican. He is making a virtue of his long tenure.

What a total dem, at least he hasn't pulled the I am a Indian card.

I find this hilarious.

Identity politics is a fickle bitch, eh Charlie?

I still think Carlos Rangel will pull it out. His velvety smooth vocals make any campaign speech a joy to listen to.

I love that he went to Obama begging for an endorsement and Obama told him to get fricked

Maybe he can cohost with Sharpton on DNCNBC?

I'm hoping Espaillat wins. Even though he'll probably be an incumbent for the next 30+ years like Rangel, at least it gets one prominent shitbag out of Congress for now.

Rangel should be in jail for tax evasion, amongst other things, but the amount of power he wields was enough to get him off with a censure for what would have been jail time for an average taxpayer.

A rare smart move by Obama. Rangel's appeal has been getting more selective for a while now.

Don't act like you don't agree with him every fricking time he pulls out his race card.

I hope this criminal gets sent packing as well.

But........

This is the problem with our government. Career politicians completely out of touch with reality.
