Hillary Rodham Clinton’s comments about her personal wealth are getting attention again.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper published over the weekend, the Democrat sought to deflect arguments that her status as a multimillionaire might hurt her credibility with voters concerned about income inequality.
Voters, Clinton said, “don’t see me as part of the problem because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off, not to name names; and we’ve done it through the dint of hard work.”

A CNN analysis found that Bill Clinton earned more than $106 million in speaking fees since the end of his presidency in 2001 through January 2o13. Since leaving the State Department early last year, Hillary Rodham Clinton earned as much as $200,000 per event through speaking engagements before trade groups and businesses.

Yeah, being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to give the same worn-out speeches in front of a bunch of sycophants is "hard work"!

The Clinton's have had a chip on their shoulder from their early days. They were not "blue bloods" born with silver spoons in their mouths but their goal was to become a member of that group. Now that they are there, Hillary is trying to convince the American people she is just like them.

She's clueless.
Not really. She just knows that no matter what ignorant comment comes out of her mouth, the true Kool-Aid drinking moronic believers (e.g., Rex, VOR, Tuba, VB, NBC, CBS, WaPo, NYT, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, etc.) will be out there swearing that she's telling the truth, and anyone who disagrees is just part of the vast right wing misogynist conspiracy who simply hate her because she's a woman. And, of course, this includes woman who are against her.
All you have to do is look at these morons who are actually on this board trying to defend the indefensible IRS scandal. I mean, how f*cked-in-the-head do you have to be to defend Lois Lerner and the IRS at this point? How many "coincidences" do you have to ignore to actually make a complete f*cking a$$ of yourself.
And, they'll do the same thing for the filthy c*nt that is Hillary.

The Dems are gonna carry the water for her. Hell, I read some of the comments on the news story, and they are already victimizing her.
They're going to cite this article to defend Hillary and slander Mitt all in the same sentence. None of them are in touch with reality.

Those people would vote for the Dem nominee regardless.
Hillary is going to have to win in the middle, and shite like this just doesn't sound authentic.

Hmmmmmm... so, how many of you "ordinary people" have put your houses into trust to save money on estate taxes? How many people hire lawyers because they're worried about estate taxes in the first place given that you can leave over $10.5 million to your kids?
Hillary and Bill are sure doing a lot of planning to avoid the taxes that they love to impose on all those people who are "truly well off."
Those Clintons are just Ordinary People ....
From the article --
quote:
To reduce the tax pinch, the Clintons are using financial planning strategies befitting the top 1 percent of U.S. households in wealth. These moves, common among multimillionaires, will help shield some of their estate from the tax that now tops out at 40 percent of assets upon death.
But, dey just po fokes trying to get by and figure out how deys gonna pay for po little ole lame Chelsea's tuition.
And, to top it off, the person who is going to inherit and benefit from all this planning has a $600,000 DO NOTHING F*CKING JOB with the same "journalistic" news media who are suppose to be covering the Clintons.
But, deys just ordinary fokes!
How in da world is po little ole lame Chelsa gonna feed her chilrens???

That's why it rings so hollow. She'd be better off just to own it and attribute it to their hard work. I know people like you would scoff at the notion that what they did is 'hard work', but at least it wouldn't ring as hollow as this shite does.
Posted on 6/23/14 at 8:40 am to boosiebadazz
Anyone who thinks she's inauthentic hasn't heard her "I've come to far" sermon.
Posted on 6/23/14 at 8:41 am to wickowick
she is correct that it is smart to structure your finances, estate, etc, in a way that minimizes ordinary income tax. if she's claiming that she pays ordinary income tax on all of her income, then she is a terrible steward of money and definitely should not be handed control of this nation's purse strings.
and yes re "dint of hard work." pock marks from the work you had done on your face do not count.

She should have just went fulltime cowgirl and stayed in the cattle market. Clearing 90 grand off a $10,000 investment after six months is a Dale Evans dream.
