The greatest gift my little youth athlete gave was the day he announced, "Dad, think it's time I hang up the soccer cleats". I am not, not, a soccer fan.

It's World Cup time, so I have no choice at the local watering hole this Sunday afternoon, to choose the programing. We have a larger than normal crowd for Sunday & at the half, a
patron goes to the jukebox & puches up Leewood "Proud to,be an American". Everyone singing along was one of those moments.

Nice to know their is some patriotism within the youth. Not a lot of soccer knowledge, but supporting the red, white & blue.

I felt so patriotic when our guy was carried off the field in a stretcher, but the chants of USA miraculously healed him and allowed him the gift of running which was robbed from him just seconds earlier.

I agree. "Where at least I know I'm free"? WTF?

It is NOT the National Anthem which I really respect and make sure others respect it (within reason) around me when it's played in public.

The Lee Greenwood song was designed as a commercial venture to MAKE MONEY for a private individual. It has no meaning to many patriotic Americans.

Nothing patriotic Americans hate more than money making commercial ventures. That's why we fought the Commies to keep it from spreading.

Been on the edge for some time, but adios OT.
Racist? Really
Paige - wtf - you missed the point - thought you were smarter than that
Song - not a fan either, but at the right moment, it can be special in a crowd
GR - he turned out to be an academic All-American QB in college -starting point guard & a not so bad 2nd day pitcher - ever sit in a north Texas soccer stadium in frickin January - it was a gift

Adios - I'm done with the OT
