Went to the camp this weekend and went to one stand and a big arse black vulture comes flying out. We get close to the stand and hear a hissing sound. There was another one in there. I'm guessing too young to fly. But good god it stinks in there. Any tips on getting rid of the smell other than burning it down?

Buzzards, not vultures. And yes, time to round up some matches

Actually they are vultures. We don't have buzzards in the US. They are more of a raptor and native to Europe and Asia.

I'm gonna sweep it out good and get bleach/water in a sprayer and give it a shot.

Had the same thing last year. A gallon of baking soda later, it was bearable. But it will never smell quite right again.

Bleach Bleach and more Bleach. Then cover up those windows because they will be back - trust me.

Try OdoBan, it was the only thing that got rid of the smell of rotten shrimp in carpet on my boat.

I'm definitely going to cover the window once this one gets out of there. It almost had a strong piss smell in there. Very pungent

Might I suggest matches and lighter fluid? Smell will always be there.

Had that happen in a 12 ft tower blind. I had rubber mat floors I tossed out. Then scrapped crap into a 5 gal bucket until mostly gone. Then brushed with bleach/water until pretty clean. After everything dried out I laid down a new rubber floor mat. Couldn't tell it had 3" of crap everywhere. Damn near like new but a lot of work and balancing at 12'. I'm sure you'll make sure it's sealed in the future.

Maybe split the difference. Seeing you have sections held up with zip ties you may want to change a couple to help. Looks like for the cost of one sheet you can get two sections, yes?

Is there one side worse?

We use bleach. But these days we take some cardboard and a staple gun and cover the windows after hunting season.
