Quackenbush's is no longer on the Drag. I was shocked to see a pale shadow of its former self operating somewhere northward (Hyde Park) when I was last there in 2010.

Lake levels are down and it will be a clusterfrick. You couldn't pay me to be on one of the lakes on July 4th.
There are a bunch of good shows that week so that's what I'll be doing. Jerry Jeff Walker/Turnpike Troubadours in New Braunfels on the 5th so I may go float on the 4th and stay with some friends down there, although I prefer to float in San Marcos.
I think there's a free fireworks show at Circuit of the Americas.

I think they shoot fireworks at the bats coming out from under the bridge on July 4th. And I think you are allowed to shoot fireworks at hipsters on the 4th too.

I figured it was too good to last. Spent many hours hanging out at that place. Probably one of the best hangouts ever.
