Little Creatures was by far the best tasting for me (But I admit I'm not as adventurous as the resident FDB beer snobs)

Hunter Valley Beer Co. Brewery:

James Squire Brewery:

Also:
*Priest's Yeast--a Belgian style beer

Murray's Brewery:

Non-Aussie Beers:

I DID NOT DRINK (or see one can of or advertisement for, for that matter):

LOL--FIG JAM is an acronym:

Fuck
I'm
Good

Just
Ask
Me

But it was one of the better beers I had. Really tasty and about 7.5% abv

Little Creatures was good, enjoyed going to the brewery/restaurant too...the kangaroo dippers were good!

I enjoyed the James Squire stuff too. They also had lots of cider beers over there and all of them were pretty good, great for summertime.

I've got a bottle of Little Creatures in the fridge at home....my sister in law and brother in law are coming in next Saturday from Perth, and I think he is bringing me some more

Nice. I would have LOVED to bring some back, but the logistics were just too much for me to deal with. Not much luggage space, and I don't know how much it would have cost to ship a case--not worth it.

I was there for two weeks.

I don't know if they are known for good beer, as I'm not a beer snob, but they have some damn fine beers, that's for sure.

I was talking to a guy at one of the breweries and he says that Australia is about 15 years behind the U.S. when it comes to craft beers/micro breweries. I think he was being modest.

I had a Tooheys at Dingos when it was open. Good beer. Also had a long rectangular shaped salmon filet on a square bun. Not sure why the place closed (kidding), but there's some nice graffiti on the vacant building now.

How was the winter weather in June and where were you?

I've a friend playing pro hockey there right now. Had no idea they even had pro hockey before he signed.

The "winter weather" was pretty mild as far as temperature goes.

The coldest it ever got was about 5/6 C(41-45 F). in Melbourne. Highs were consistently in the 18/20 C (64-68 F).

Started in Sydney then to

Lakes Entrance, Victoria;

to Melbourne;

to Jenolan Caves;

to Katoomba/Blue Mountains

to East Maitland/Newcastle area (Hunter Valley)

Friends of mine put 3500k (2100m) on their car chauffering my fat arse around Oz. They were great hosts.

Very nice.

Winter down under reminds me of a Nick Cave (Aussie) song Alice.

"Alice wakes
It is morning
She is yawning
As she walks about the room
Her hair falls down her breast
She is naked and it is June"

Nick Cave is the shite.
