Despite his 3-0 record since being recalled and 0.95 ERA, the Orioles need help in the bullpen.

He will be back to the "show" very soon.

Looks like the O's got caught in a roster bind. He'll be back soon. I was actually having lunch in a tavern in Toronto this past Wednesday and saw Gausman work his way out of a bases loaded, no outs jam at Tampa Bay. Only got to watch about three innings, but he looked good, and I saw later that he got the win.

If be pretty damn pissed and confused if I was him.. Not a good way to treat a young potential frontline starter.. I get the options side of it but still sends some mixed signals

There has got to be a better option than this for Baltimore

Why?

They are going to bring him back up, he was the only starting they could send down. Temporary roster adjustment. Not a big deal at all for Gausman.

I think it is strategic so that they can bring him up for a double header they have soon where there's an exception to extend your roster size by one.

Apparently they have a doubleheader very soon and theirs a loophole or special rule that allows him to pitch...Not sure the exact details and I may completely misunderstood what i read.

ETA: Y'all beat me to it

no, it's obviously because they hate LSU so much they'd rather lose than pitch gausman. DUH!

Yeah they can have an extra player on the roster that day but will have to send someone back down the next day too and it will be a starting pitcher.

So do we think Gausman will be called back up for one day and then go right back down?

This allows the O's to limit his innings a bit and exploit a MLB rule. He's been spectacular over his last 3 starts and he should be a fixture for the rest of the year. They have been using a 6 man rotation and needed to send someone down.

If this is a "common move" (which it's not) it'll explain why the orioles haven't even sniffed a championship in 31 years, dumb fricks.
