Yeah, I know, WND. But I checked; the NY Times didn't have this story.

quote:

The Obama administration has been awash with scandals – some that have been said to surpass Watergate – and yet America’s mainstream press has apparently forgotten its role as watchdog, claims Fox Business News’ Lou Dobbs, and his award-winning journalist guest has a theory as to why.

Emmy-winning investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson appeared on the June 19 “Lou Dobbs Tonight” program and explained the media isn’t digging into allegations the White House used the power of the IRS to target tea-party groups because “propaganda interests” have intimidated reporters so severely, they’re afraid if they cover the administration’s scandals, they’ll be seen as a “right-wing nut.”

“Whether it’s Fast and Furious, whether it is spying on a journalist, whether it’s IRS targeting, Benghazi, the list goes on and on and on,” Dobbs posited to Attkisson. “Yet the national liberal media, as I often style it, simply will not rise up to the level of a watchdog for the state. Instead they are behaving much more like lap dogs. It is, to me, mind boggling.”

Attkisson suggested some reporters may simply not be that interested in these scandal stories, but she also suggested there may be more nefarious forces at work.

“I think to some degree they have been played by propaganda interests who suggest that if these stories are covered, they are simply phony scandals and Republican generated. Which they’re not, in my opinion,” she said. “From a neutral viewpoint there are many important questions to be asked and implications here. But the propaganda campaign says that if you’re interested in the story you’re a conservative and a right-wing nut.

That makes total sense to me. They don't want to offend BHO. He might take away WH press privileges!
That and they may look bad from whoring for him since 2004 and then admitting they were wrong. He IS incompetent and not capable of being a decent President.

I do not know why the Republicans do not do an all out assault on how bias the media is. They should name names and point out all the examples of bias.

They have nothing to lose by doing this..

I think they've tried. But the only way to get the story out is through...you guessed it, the media.

The media choose to either ignore the complaints, or more frequently they tell the conservatives to stop whining and just enjoy riding in the back of the bus.

If she thinks this, then maybe she should partner up with Karl Rove and start a network news. I don't know... call it "fair and balanced" and focus on Benghazi and Fast & Furious and all of these many "scandals" that she claims the press doesn't focus on. Clearly there's a niche there.

I just love how you guys always use the wrongs of the past to try and justify the wrongs of the present.

Actually, it's pretty juvenile.

That's because NYT doesn't classify several paragraphs on a talking head's opinion a "story".

WND is literally as bad as The National Enquirer. It exists solely to provide conservatives their daily outrage. Stop reading it. You're deliberately misinforming yourself.

a want uses the same attack strategy as the media.

Let me ask this, did the national news give more or less coverage to Bridgegate or the IRS scandal? Which shows more evidence of wrongdoing with more serious implications from the country?

war on conservatives...

Sharyl Attkisson is nothing more than a wannabe opportunist, who sees money in her future as the "stonewalled" ex-liberal journalist attempting to expose some truth, despite never having broken a major story in her life. She knows that sort of apostate stuff (see Dick Morris) plays well among eagerly gullible Fox viewers.

So, she's afraid of being considered a right wing nut, but interviews with WND? Pretty laughable.

Here's a challenge for you, Ms. Attkisson... now that you're freed from the shackle of liberal media bosses let's see some amazing political revelations instead of all these whiney, blame-gamey excuses for your failures. I bet you can't.

Yeah, i thought the same thing. Why wont she and Lou Dobbs look into these allegations instead of bitching about why nobody is finding evidence supporting these allegations....hmmmm.
