My brother, beat friend, and myself are going surf fishing on Elmer's Island tomorrow. Any reports from this past week? I read in some other threads that there is seaweed 2 feet thick but you can walk past that and get into the water. Anybody been catching trout?

On memorial day, I caught a few around the bend on the pass side and a few on the regular beach/gulf side. Seaweed was (I thought) bad then, but I've heard it's worse. But water was fine, and I hear it still is. I'd get down on the beach by a little after 5, throw a topwater and then switch to croakers.

Haven't been since, though I'd like to go down Sunday. Good luck.

You basically have to climb over it it's so thick. I tried tight lining a crab on a 12 ounce weight and the seaweed pulled it up to the beach and it was buried a foot deep. Stingrays everywhere but water clear. This was last Saturday.

What top water baits you used if you don't mind me asking. We are hoping to arrive by 4 am just to make sure we can take our time getting everything done.

She dog in white with the red head. Didn't catch any last time though I had a blow up. I got there late though and Sun was way up. I've had most success on a yellow top dog.

I like to be at coastal at 5 when they open then go straight to the beach. Damn I wanna go but have yard work.

I was using matrix shad and catching rays on them. Usually use mirrolures. I'm driving down now. Gonna fish the bridge tonight first then try surf.

I got 1 catfish, probably left to fish the road at about 8:30. Seaweed was worse last week, water dirtier this week.

Good for y'all - front or backside of Tim? We were just north of there at what is left of Caillou Island. Did not do near that well but had some fun. First time I ran that far west - nice area!
