What do those run? I'm torn between a badass radar detector or a CB radio.

Wish I didn't need a big nasty antenna for a CB to work well. So helpful and pretty much 100% accurate

Escort 9500i, Valentine 1. Or save $250 and get a Bel Vector 945 that will give you all the performance you'll ever need. Here in Louisiana 99.9% of cops use Ka and even K band which is picked up 5 miles out by the $150 Bel Vector. If they are lasering, you're fricked anyway.

Anyone ever heard of or used Rocky Mountain radar? Supposedly can scramble" radar or laser, making you virtually invisible.

It doesn't have X band. Livonia PD does.

V1.

The front and rear sensors are indispensable for determining the source of the alert.

Laser jammers have come down in price too. Check out the Laser Interceptor.

I looked into the V1 and laser jammer combo...jammers seem like more trouble than they're worth.

Only a cop messing with or podunk small town cops, like Livonia, use X band. That Rocky Mountain scrambler looks interesting to me. My ole Cobra has worked fine for me, but it is getting old and not as reliable. May have to consider that RM.

Rocky Mountain radar

I still have mine sitting in a box in the basement somewhere. It didn't work for me in 07-08. Maybe there is a newer version that works better?

Valentine one shows the direction of the cop which is nice.

Escort 9500, 8500 and Redline are all excellent as well.

It means the cop has already clocked either you or a car very close to you.

Car & Driver recently did a comparison test between the Valentine 1 and the Escort Passport Max. They concluded that both were top-notch units but gave a slight edge to the Escort.
