3,137-County Analysis: Obamacare Increased 2014 Individual-Market Premiums By Average Of 49%
.... Our new county-by-county analysis was led by Yegeniy Feyman, who compiled the county-based data for 27-year-olds, 40-year-olds, and 64-year-olds, segregated by gender. We were able to obtain data for 3,137 of the United States’ 3,144 counties.
Buchanan County, Mo. sees 271% rate hike for men
Among men, the county with the greatest increase in insurance prices from 2013 to 2014 was Buchanan County, Missouri, about 45 miles north of Kansas City: 271 percent. Among women, the “winner” was Goodhue County, Minnesota, about an hour southwest of Minneapolis: 200 percent. Overall, the counties of Nevada, North Carolina, Minnesota, and Arkansas haven experienced the largest rate hikes under the law.
The best-faring county for both men and women was St. Lawrence County in northern New York, with premium decreases of 70 percent in 2014 relative to 2013. The New York City metropolitan area—the five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester County—are the clear winners under Obamacare, with decreases in the 63 to 64 percent range.
.............
Women face rate hikes in 82% of U.S. counties; men 91%
Across the country, for men overall, individual-market premiums went up in 91 percent of all counties: 2,844 out of 3,137. For 27-year-old men, the average county faced 91 percent increases; for 40-year-old men, 60 percent; for 64-year-old men, 32 percent.
Women fared slightly better; their premiums “only” went up in 82 percent of all counties: 2,562 out of 3,137. That’s because Obamacare bars insurers from charging different rates to men and women; prior to Obamacare, only 11 states did so. Because women tend to consume more health care than men, the end result of the Obamacare regulation is that men fare somewhat worse.
.............
If the polls are any guide, however, most voters haven’t benefited from the law. Remember that President Obama often promised that his plan would “lower premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year…by the end of my first term as President of the United States.” It’s an understatement to say that this has not happened.

Of course the averages are going to go up when cheap garbage plans are no longer available.

Just wait. Once they calculate the cost of Obamacaid, it's going up even more. I have some on obamacaid that have been in 20-30x's since getting on it in January or so. It's free, they don't work and don't have shite else better to do. That's not even counting ER visits.

So is my check for my $2500.00 in savings still in the mail?

Its going to get alot worse. Wait till your paying all this money, and have to wait forever to see a specialist, because they are slammed..

I know you're kidding, but it is worth noting again that in addition to the cost, many (perhaps most) of the exchange plans are garbage.

It's not a problem for me, but I've heard other doc's complaining that specialists won't take the O'care.

Most of the Obamacare Plans are CHEAP GARBAGE PLANS. What used to be called CATASTROPHIC plans (i.e., plans with $5K+ deductibles) are common within Obamacare. The only difference is that certain far left friendly bullsh!t (like requiring 55 year olds to pay for maternity care and birth control) is now mandated.

The ones people have to buy are. The free ones are great!!! Of course, I haven't seen a single working poor person get the free O'care. Seen a few get low rates with $8copays, but very, very few. Most are paying more in premiums and now have a $6500 deductible instead of the lower premiums and $25-35 copays and $1500 deductibles they had last year. I know many that will drop their insurance next year because they are out of pocket $10k or more before ins pays a dime. It is fricking the people they said they were gonna help. The middle class is getting reamed. I feel for those that were against it, but I laugh my arse off at those that voted for free care and thought I was a dumbass for telling them they were gonna get screwed. Now they want me to give them cash discounts. frick them. And like I explain, no cash discount because they aren't cash. They have insurance and I have a contracted rate with their insurance. To charge less would be fraud. Hope you enjoy your hope and change mf'ers.

But...people are paying much less than that premium thanks to the subsidies.
So...they don't see the increase, and will completely buy the LIE from Obama and the Dems that O-care is reducing insurance costs.

But Rex got a cheaper plan, so it's a success!

Administration says subsidies cut premiums by 76%
Thank goodness everyone is getting subsidies

What's your take on this Arkansas business with Obocare? It has so many angles to it that I feel like I've been caught up in a whirlpool. Taking $47 million from the general fund to help teachers premiums stay at 10% increase instead of 50% was my first warning sign that we here in Ark. are going to take a huge arse kicking in about three or four years. Now this link in the OP about Ark. having some of the largest increases in the country.
IYO, where the hell are we headed? Thanks.

A few are. Very few. Most are paying more even though they get subsidies. The subsidies are often much less than the increase in premium AND they no longer have a small copay but instead a huge deductible. So, OOP goes waaaaaay up. Jokes on y'all mf'ers. We warned you.

Not a huge fan of Obamacare but these stats don't take into account that a large chunk of the increased costs is because they are (forced into) buying better/more insurance.
In NY the premiums went down because those people were already paying for premium insurance.
A lot of non-anecdotal comparisons are apples vs. oranges.

What if I don't want better/more insurance?

Except as noted in reality, it's more insurance. The mere fact that they can't even deny pre-existing conditions makes it significantly more expensive. Even with the mandate, moral hazards exist.
