I've never been and just herd about it and was thinking about taking the kids. Just wondering of the type of "crowd" that goes there. Thanks

"It is the BREC mission to provide quality parks and recreational opportunities for all the residents of East Baton Rouge Parish."

Why did you quote that? BREC does a pretty good job at that, I believe.

Never been but driving by I'd say it's probably a little bit better than the free splash pad at the park in Baker but it doesn't have the fishing and canoe/yak rentals. However, I'm trashy and don't mind public pools, even free ones.

Another option is Pards' water park on Eden Church in Denham.

It's really not that bad, IMO. I've never been on a weekend, and yeah, there are some fat tattooed people there as in every water park, but there are lifeguards all over the place watching the activities.

It seems much more low key than Blue Bayou and better for smaller kids, with only two (smaller) slides, a lazy river and a big splash pad. Lines for the slides are much shorter too.

And knowing how this thread will turn, I'll just say the crowd seemed to be about 60/40 black/white.

Lots of floaties can be seen from standing outside the pool.
