A lot of people talk about movies in the 80's or 90's not aging well.

I popped in the Goonies the other day and still laughed my arse off quite a bit. One of my favorites growing up and still is.

Do we generally give it a pass for nostalgia sake or is it actually a good film. I can't decide. I love that Truffle Shuffle shite though and Josh Brolin and Sean Astin

i am sure i am in the minority but to me i think you had to grow up on it to really enjoy it in today's time. adventure movies are always fun though regardless of age!

i could be wrong, but i did not grow up on the goonies. brolin was great!

The 80s, not really, but the 90s are holding up extraordinarily well.

It still holds up.

how can anyone seeing this movie (even for the first time) not crack up when they see:

also, chunk being chunk and his hyperness is still hillarious "baby... ruth???"

it still holds up as a great 80s coming of age/adventure/young adult movie.

and Momma Fertelli used to scare the shite out of me as a kid.

If there is anything I am sure of in this life it's that The Goonies is the best kid's adventure movie ever.

It came on TV the other day and I still found it enjoyable. In my mind it holds up well, I'm not sure how it would go over with today's youth though. A generation growing up with Smartphones always at their fingertips might find the specific problems/solutions dated. I think the basic story is timeless, but I can see where an updated version might keep it a classic for the next 30 years.
