I've used it for the past month or two. At first I felt it was great, no more downloading music from sketchy sites, not using too much space on my phone for music, etc. But lately I've noticed they've been pretty shitty at adding new albums as they come out. Anyone no the deal with that?

For example, the new Eric Church cd is still not on spotify, as well as Brantley Gilbert's new cd.

Been using it at least a year now and haven't run into that problem. I listened to a new album yesterday on there that was just released this week.

My biggest gripe with them is their program is a resource hog and slows my work computer to a crawl if I have it open at work. Granted, I have an older laptop that's in need of replacing, but I've also noticed it on my Macbook at home.

I will let that slide... I actually enjoyed him at BCSF but doubt I will listen to his actual albums on Spotify

Spotify is the best $10 I spend every month. I am actually using it currently . But no, Ive found that they are really good about getting new albums up the day/week of unless the band/record label are being dicks and asking for a ton of money (thanks kinda what Ive heard, TIFWIW). For instance the Black Keys new album isnt up I noticed this morning. But that's because the BKs wont sell them the rights or let them use it, or however all that stuff works.

Does the OP realize that spotify can't guarantee the timing or even if new releases will come about. I'm not sure why anyone would think he was entitled to that. It's up to the artist. Not spotify.

It's not like Spotify has a running list saying which new albums they will not include. They have plenty of big name albums available the day of release, i.e. Mumford and Sons newest album, Coldplay's newest album, Jack White's newest album, names don't get much bigger than that. Doesn't sound too unreasonable to me for him to ask.

It has been on mine since day 1 so I don't know what's going on with yours. Have you updated your software?

It doesn't always have what I want to listen to. No Silver Jews at all last time I looked.

Look up album title on Spotify instead of artist. I sometimes find that with new releases, Spotify will not list it under the artist for awhile, but it immediately is catalogued by album title.
