USA's odds for making it thru went from 36.9% of making it to 67.2%.

It also has USA as a 34% shot of making the quarters.

What a big win we got last night. Makes Portugal result even more important.

If we can just beat Portugal, we're through.

Draw would be useful as well, provided Germany takes care of business vs. Ghana.

Those odds seem a little fishy.

We have better odds of advancing to go the quarterfinals than Spain does of getting out of the group. I could easily see them beating Chile and Australia, even after the terrible start.

So basically, it's saying, that we have a better shot of drawing Portugal and beating Belgium than Spain does of beating Chile and Australia. What?

probably because Spain looked sooo complacent and Chile is one of those teams here to prove themselves. I'd take Chile over Spain after watching La Roja's first game.

Meh, even if they are complacent, Germany could still put a dent in our goal differential.

i'm obviously assuming germany beats ghana

1. germany probably gets some young/backups some PT

2. we will bunker like it's WWI. it's going to be hard for germany to score 5 against us with our bunker (say what you will about the USNT, but we have proven we can bunker in international play)

it's not likely for portugal to beat ghana 5-0

Germany wouldn't have to beat us by 5. They can beat us by 2 and Portugal win by 3 and we're potentially out.

Is it legal to play with two goalies?

Those odds mean nothing unless it's 100 or 0.

maybe, I suppose there's no rule against just having everyone just lineup in a wall on the goal line and have Howard patrol it like a bouncer.

sure, but i doubt portugal has that in them. it's a big longshot. i think ghana has a better shot to beat portugal than v/v

I don't think it's likely for Portugal to beat Ghana at all.
If we draw Portugal, I think they leave Brazil with a max of 2 points.

Yeah, by beating Portugal so badly they really only have to beat Ghana and draw us to win the group.

exactly. like i said, i'm assuming germany beats ghana. if they do that, they're going to win the group (even if we beat them, GD wins it). they may try to beat us, but they're not going to go all out with their A-squad to try to beat the shite out of us

plus we will almost assuredly be bunkering like motherfrickers. even 2-0 is not easy against an organized bunker
