The Trump has been on a Twitter tirade all weekend about how horribly the course looks. These two are a small sample, if you click the link to his Twitter, he has more than a handful of critical tweets.

@MattGinellaGCSadly Matt, you don't understand golf (even though you think you do).I have numerous couses that are far superior to Pinehurst

I'd bet the horrible look of Pinehurst translates into poor television ratings. This is not what golf is about!

I thought the return to its original design was great. I will add I do think the natural areas should be much thicker/dense

He should write a new book about it. He could cover it in Chapter 11. All four of them.

Worst US Open I can remember... but not really bc of the course (though it looked like shite, but so do most of the British Open courses)... it was over before I got off work on Friday.

He also claims trump Philadelphia is better than pine valley, trump LA is better than Pebble Beach, Trump Doral is better than Seminole, Trump Scotland is better than Saint Andrews, Trump Peurto Rico is better than any course in the Carriebean, Trump Bedminster is better than Winged Foot or Shinnecock, so you can kind of take that with a grain of salt.

Why do the Native Areas need to be thicker? I thought they were perfect... You always found your ball, and you usually had a shot. Thick native areas or deep rough eliminate the possibility of a recovery. That makes for boring, penal golf with endless ball searches that make the rounds take longer.

I think he is correct. I am not sure what the ratings were for the Open, but three things made me watch soccer instead, even though I much prefer golf:

1. The course. It did nothing for me, even without it looking like the old City Park South. Add in the terrible looking conditions, I had no reason to watch to enjoy the course. Think Masters, Pebble, etc..

2. NBC's coverage. Glad NBC is done covering the U.S. Open.

3. The blowout and Kaymer being the one winning by a wide margin.

I wasn't all that impressed with the course but I'll take it just to not listen to trump's Yankee arse.

I think he has a point. That course looked like crap. Martin Kaymer DGAF, though.

if Kaymer doesn't run away with it, its your typical US open...it sucked that there was no drama in the final round and really no starpower because of it

as for the course, i love the design....the course does look brown and worn, but more of that has to do with the new environmental friendly irrigation system

i don't think it was in bad condition at all, just didnt look that great on an HDTV

i thought the natural areas were well done...penalizing, but not unfair...a nice test of golf

And if he thinks one of his courses will ever host a major he's fricked in the head. The usga and PGA will always switch back and forth with the older course.

The rough was to easy imo. Was like hitting long sand shots fwiw. Could of been a little denser in some areas. But I was okay with it. Id rather watch 5 old ladies play golf before I watch soccer. Like some said, the tournament was over after Fridays round. Oh, well, congrats MK.
