Could Lebron play in the NFL and what position would he play?

I think he would be one heck of a tight end. I see his physicality on the court and can't help but wonder how he would do in Football.

Not really. A few things
1. If I were to guess, I would say he doesn't have the mental make-up to take the punishment of the NFL. But I could be wrong about that. This is just conjecture. But he seems too soft for football.
2. Though he does have the physical attributes for the NFL, he does not have the skills or techniques which would take years to master. So, at best, you put him out there as a raw talent, (or a distraction), and hope you catch lightning in a bottle. He'll be a totally marginal, wildly inconsistent player AT BEST.

I also think Michael Jordan would have been an awesome Wide Reciever/Playmaker.
I wish we could see how some of these freak athletes would do in other sports in an exibition game for charity. I guess that would risk too much injury though.

Are you fricking serious with this shite?
Is it 2009 again?
Is it 2009 again?

I think he'd play on the whine of scrimmage.

Well basically, here's your answer: It's a stupid fricking question because there is more to playing football than being big and strong. You're taking for granted all the technique and skill. It's not like Jimmy Graham is just a big fast guy who can catch. He's good because he's those things AND he's spent the last decade or so mastering all these little techniques that enable him to get open on a consistent basis. And idiots like you never think about that, you just think "Hey, if you're big and fast and strong, you can play." Which, sure, for about half a season and then you wash out of the league unless you spend years diligently developing your skill.
No one could switch back and forth between professional sports in the modern era, unless they were incredible athletesAND had spent their entire adult lifetime training for both sports. LeBron and MJ did not do the second part. Deion and Bo...

But would he go for a WR tag in free agency?

Its really not that serious. Just fun to think about. A charity event could raise a ton of money if you featured multiple star athletes in sports they dont usually play. Just for one game a year or something. Seeing Calvin Johnson dunk a basketball over Colin Kaepernick's head would be fun to watch.

If by decade or so you mean the last 5 years.
Hell, he was a star after 2 years of football. 1 at Miami and 1 with the Saints. He didn't play high school football.
Jimmy Graham's frame works a lot better for football than Lebron's would. They had similar verticals I believe.

You probably think Tebow could have easily played TE too.

Wasn't Lebron an all-american HS wide receiver? I think he would easily make a roster and contribute if he wanted to play football.
He wouldn't be Calvin Johnson, but a team could you his skill set in certain situations. He wouldn't need to be an every down player to make an impact
