Anyone have brand preference? Web or Brick & Mortar retail location?
FYI: Current gear is ScubaPro but it probably close to 20 years old. Still works great. Having a board member check it over next month during my certification
thanks

Usually more about fit and features than brand.
All of the top brands will be satisfactory.
I like using the web to do research on the gear I want. Then, I see which B&M shop is the certified service location for that equipment/brand. Some B&M shops are competitively priced, but I personally like building a working relationship with the service locations. Plus, you have a price comparison from the web to make sure you aren't getting robbed.
Age is more of a concern for me.
Technology has come a long way... fins & regs in particular.

leisurepro.com I got all my gear from them. In the interest of fairness, when I bought my gear manufacturers didnt honor their warranties if not bought through an authorized retailer which almost no website was at the time. Things might have changed since then but when I weighed things out I decided to chance it for the money I saved. Haven't haf any problems with the gear 10 years later.

yeah, depends on the specific equipment, but a lot of it, you really want to at least try on first. You usually get a lot of service in a store.
I get stuff from divers direct.com, but I go to there stores as well

I hope it ain't Hat, I've "heard" he prefers to inspect and "check it out" while you're wearing it.
