Who ya got?

2004 Detroit was a brilliantly coached team under Larry Brown. They showed how brilliant coaching and execution could take down superteams (shaq kobe malone payton horry)

I would love to see those two square up.

Prince and Rip would be too much for the Spurs to guard

2004 Pistons

The big 4 were all in there primes

Chauncey Billups
Tayshaun Prince
Rip Hamilton
Ben Wallace

Head Coach was Larry Brown

They masterfully finished off the Lakers

You can put /thread all you want, but those pistons would be a toss up against these spurs imo

This is the best Spurs team ever. I think they'd beat Det in 6.

That's because they can't discuss it objectively.

I hope everyone who is /thread realizes they were arguably a Rasheed Wallace brain aneurysm away from going back-to-back against the Spurs...who, you know, had a prime Duncan/Parker/Ginobili on their roster and won three titles in five years.

This is the best Spur's team they have ever had. Duncan and Manu are on the decline. But Parker is in his prime and the team is deeper than ever. Plus Leonard is a rising star. The 05 spurs, that basically beat the same Pistons team from 04, relied on defense. While this team plays great defense, it has mastered another level of offensive efficiency.

I don't get all this love for the '04 Pistons lately. The East might have been ever weaker back then. They had a nice run, but I don't think it's one of the better all time teams. It was a great collection of veterans that filled their roles nicely. But history will look down hard on them. Especially since they all basically crapped the bed later in their careers and became salary dump guys.

Wat

Why? You act like they were a flash in the pan. 5 straight ECF appearances. One Rasheed Wallace mistake away from winning back to back.

I'm definitely not saying they were an all-time great team. But they were a damn good team. Best defense I ever saw.

They beat the shite out of a Lakers team seeking 4 in a row and led by Kobe and shaq. That Lakers team is better than this heat team.

To make this discussion interesting, we should throw the 01 kings into the conversation. Their offense was a thing of beauty.

Anyone saying Spurs easily win is just ignorant. Or maybe too young.
