FWIW, my hope is that the reader thread is that they don't know which events will happen. From the sounds of it, this season contained some of the stuff from books 4 and 5 and some of the stuff from book 3 might wait until next season.

nope, It's Jon's real Daddy, Ned's Bro, Bengen. Jon goes up to Mance, and Bengen reveals himself and his paternity.
Bengen was night's watch so he couldn't have a child...the reason for the whole Samwell/incest daughter crap we have seen....as to why Ned claimed paternity, so that Bengen and Jon wouldn't be beheaded/killed for having a kid and going against the code of the Black.
