Two men were sitting inside an Uptown house shortly after noon Wednesday when three gunmen burst in through the back door, New Orleans police said.

The victims, ages 44 and 55, told police the gunmen tied them to chairs and ransacked the house in the 2700 block of Milan Street. They looked for money, then ran away, police said.

Uptown people take notice of were this happened at. Pretty quiet area and a few blocks from my house. I'm hoping it's drug related or the intruders knew the guys because that's a strange location to just randomly kick a door in.

Let the NOLA hate flow...

F that, too far north to be considered surprising.

Negative, my entire street is Tulane kids and start up families. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a house on the edge of our area between Napoleon and Carrollton but that house is a few blocks back into the area.

Milan has some rough patches. (Milan is actually also the name of a Central City sub-neighborhood) It is going through rapid gentrification right now and will improve soon.
I was at a site on the corner of Milan and Freret not long ago and was shocked to see nearly every house under renovation.

the crime happened on the corner of Magnolia.
It's a little rougher that far north.

I thought these type of things were 100% confined to certain areas that people know to avoid

A lot of those houses are being renovated but I never get the rough area vibe around there. I drive along Milan and the surrounding streets a few times a day. It sounds like we live pretty close to each other though

John Ochsner got a gun stuck in his face while waking his dog on Audubon Place. This kind of shite can happen anyway, but it's MUCH more likely to happen in the 'hood.

This is a really good site to see all over N.O., expecially in these fringe areas. Keep pushing the cock roaches out of the city.

10 years ago people would have laughed there asses off if you had told them what was happening on places like Freret, St. Claude, Oak, and in general all over Mid-City, Bywater, Irish Channel, etc.
