What kind of grass is this and do ducks eat it?

I guess I should list "ducks" in the know-it-all thread because I didn't know ducks ate grass. I've never been duck hunting and just assumed ducks ate fish.

Looks like southern watergrass but probably isn't.

"Sedges have edges, rushes are round, and grasses have joints-except when cops are around."

I'm no horticulturist/botanist though

On phone riding down road, but looks like a panicum on my little screen. Probably maidencane (panicum hemitomon). I think that's pretty close to the correct spelling. No idea if ducks eat the seeds. I'm sure they would.

Let's stick to this.

Some ducks will eat fish/crawfish, but that is not a duck you would want to eat.

yeah after looking at some more pics online, it definitely looks like maidencane. unforunately it also looks like maidencane is a poor food source for ducks.
