Miami Beach Police confirmed the victim is Antaun Teasley, 42, who prepares meals for Heat and Dolphins players. Miko Grimes, wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, posted multiple condolences on Twitter and said Teasley was due to cook at her birthday party next week.

Heat guard Mario Chalmers was quoted by The Miami Herald before Tuesday’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals as saying, “He was just a close friend. He was my chef when I first got out here. So it’s tough. My condolences to his family and to him, to his kids.”

Teasley also listed tennis player Serena Williams among his clients.

Police said an argument occurred inside the popular nightclub Mansion, at 1235 Washington Ave. Teasley was shot once, in the torso/upper chest area, and died at the Jackson Health System trauma center at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The shooter was not in custody. Detectives were interviewing witnesses to determine the nature of the dispute. According to The Herald, as the argument grew heated, the scene became chaotic and many ran for the exits.

Crazy somebody getting shot in that club. Pretty sad. Do it for Chef Antaun!

I haven't been to mansion in many years. It was the club in sobe back around 2001.

Probably gone downhill and a bunch of trash going there if they had a shooting like that. I know I haven't heard about it being a hotspot in about a decade.

LOL. It's 3 A.M. at a nightclub. What kind of dispute could it have been?

ETA: Also, snitches get stitches.
