and how long did it take you to get used to it? I'm trying the stand up method, and it feels pretty strange at first.

No. It's a tall desk with bar stools.

Donald Rumsfeld uses one. That's the extent of my knowledge on standing desks.

Some people in my office cycle through the one that we have. I think it just looks odd but I guess it is good for you

Thought about it. I have a few coworkers who have switched and like it. Make sure you get an anti-fatigue mat

Sounds awful.

I'm constantly contortioning my body to get cozy at my desk.. Indian style, one leg up, propped up on my CPU, etc.

I do. Takes some getting used to.

You need comfortable dress shoes like cole Haan with the nike air in the heel and a gel pad to stand on.

I have the muvman stool to take the pressure off my feet periodically during the day.

My desk raises and lowers electronically so I can adjust if I'm standing up, taking a break on the stool thingy or decide to sit.

Overall I like it better than sitting all day especially since I'll be doing this until I retire.

Any questions let me know.

My dad does this. Says it helps his back. I think it's weird.

I had an old hippy coworker (Geologist) that would do the standing desk and the core ball thing

I've never tried it though

I was going to stop you... until I read the gel pad addition. My Cole Haans are probably the most uncomfortable shoes I own with their whole "Nike Air" bullshite!

Have been thinking about getting one. Sitting all day is bad for you.
