Some photos from the set.

Statue was supposedly being erected next to the LexCorp set.

It's a statue. Initial rumors were a new suit, but it's been confirmed to be a statue. LexCorp is suppose to be a young edgy tech company in this movie a la Google/Facebook. That was one of the main reasons for casting Jesse Eisenberg.

For toy sales purposes on movies like this, the costumes will change for every film.

If it's a statue, are we thinking that Superman is being honored for saving the world in MoS?

Probably. I mean even if Superman had not escaped from Zod, he would have been killed and Earth would have been subjugated and then wiped out by Zod. Yeah the city got fricked up, but it was a huge arse city, but ultimately Superman did what he had to do. Zod was was going to kill him and every human he could. He stated as much. So yeah it was messy, but hey, war is hell.

I never understood the criticism this got. As if Superman had a choice. Should he have just ran from Zod and let him destroy the world? Zod came after him.

Yeah on the rewatch Zod makes it abundantly clear that his sole mission after the Kodex was destroyed was to kill every living being on Earth besides himself.

He had a machine called the world engine or something. He wasnt playing around. It's strange that the Avengers or Transformers or anyone else can destroy a city with no worries but Superman wasnt supposed to cause damage.

Or kill anyone either. How unrealistic is that when you're dealing with someone with the power of Zod? You can't just put that guy in jail. People expect him to be perfect. Save the world but make sure you do it without a scratch. Ridiculous. Earth doesn't have a Asgardian prison like where they kept Loki.

Asgard doesn't seem to good at containing Loki either fwiw. Thor should kill him

On this board, there is a ridiculous overrating of The Avengers and a ridiculous underrating of Man of Steel.
