It has only a 64gb ssd, but you can always use flash drives for extra media. I need windows and the ability to work with Excel and Access in the field.
Plus I can get it for around $300.
I'm prepared to hear why I shouldn't buy it.

Asus makes the Nexus 7. I tend to look at Asus options first, for most hardware choices - out of my 10 builds over the years, 9 have been on Asus motherboards.
I'm not talking you out of it...

Brother got the exact same one and loves it. Incredibly price for that type of device.

It won't come close to replacing a Surface Pro, but at that price, unless you're a power Java programmer, the x86 architecture of this device at this price is hard to beat.

I bought one a few weeks ago to have a windows OS; I really like it and have had no problems so far with it.

I just don't know if an extra $170 for a 500GB HDD is worth it. I have a couple of 1TB drives I can plug in VIA USB when I need to and on trips I can use my usb drives for added movies and such.
I look at this and know I'm going to get it, but I still need a middle ground laptop too (I want TV out, speed and portability) so that will probably be in the fall or winter then I need to up date my desktop too.
The Asus I want as my every day field computer.
Currently I am using a Touchpad on Android and it has done everything but run office.
