We would have made it further than last year.

ETA: Because last year we would have at least got top 4 instead of 7th.

and while you are at it, imagine trying to sell tickets for $100 apiece to regular season football games that don't matter at all...

It's an improvement over what we had. Progress is progress...but lower division football has had it right for years.

The most stupid argument I have ever heard. The regular season is even more meaningful, just like NFL.

I don't get your point. NCAA basketball and baseball do have selection committees.

I'd much rather a committee in football than Sagarin.

Should have kept the BCS system to determine the top 4 teams and have them play in a playoff.

Imagine a playoff involving half as many teams as Baseball or even basketball.

Imagine assembling enough people outside of Louisiana that give a ratfrick about college baseball.

The NFL regular season is certainly not as meaningful as college football. Look at the recent success of 6 seeds

Yeah let's take the sport that brings in more revenue and make it like the sport that brings in less revenue!!

Football is nothing like Baseball. Playoff is necessary in Baseball. In football not so much.

Not really, only entertainment/drama wise.

if the selection committee generally takes the top four ranked conference champs (or independents) that's a decent playoff solution. the problem with a selection committee IMO is they haven't made their criteria completely transparent so programs know what they have to do to make the playoff

I don't think there are enough people who watch enough college baseball to form a committee for this. Even the people who make the polls have probably only watched a handful of teams for more than a few games.
