Haven't really been keeping up with it.

Outside of Christiano, I don't know jack about the Portugese.

Any insight would be helpful. TIA

Enough to where they won't survive the group stage.

Won't change anything. They weren't getting out of the group before, and they won't now.

I love the World Cup. One of my favorite sporting events in all of sports.

Just trying to do my homework before it begins

The witch doctor is creepy. One weird country to have that guy on tv talking about the curses he's putting on other the players.

It depends on the extent of the injury and how effective he can be. Ronaldo is the most important player to any one team. Without him, they are still very good, but they could excellent with Ronaldo. At their best, Portugal can go toe to toe with almost anyone.

i have the same problem with my knee that he has, what happens is your quad starts to weaken and you knee then sits on top of shin causing discomfort and pain. Eric Gordon has the same injury i believe

From teams I've seen, Messi and Neymar are probably pretty close. I can at least envision how Portugal would play without him, since I've already seen it. Brazil w/Neymar probably most nearly mimics Portugal w/Ronaldo, but even though Argentina has an abundance of attacking talent, if they lost Messi, they'd have to do something more complicated than randomly throwing four attacking players onto the field ahead of Mascherano and Gago.

As a fellow fanboy, we can say Ronaldo matters the most.

CRon, Meireles, and Pepe are all out for their friendly against Mexico tomorrow. I don't know the severity of Meireles and Pepe's injuries/fitness but it's not looking great for the Portuguese.

I sometimes wonder, given Portugals struggles qualifying, if they become too reliant upon him making a spectacular play.

Without him they may be a better TEAM but a less dangerous one. And one that may have a harder time beating us. I think if we lose to Portugal it will be strictly because of some individual moments of brilliance from him. I think we'll otherwise be able to go toe to toe with them, even if they are individually more talented.

Pepe and Meireles' injuries affect Portugal just as much. Don't have much faith in Coentrao either.
