This is so stupid. How many die hard NOLA fans can seriously name one player on this team?

Defensive stats (TOs) say otherwise.

09 was destiny. 11 was the better team. Everybody knew the ball was going to Vernon Davis. Damn. Still pisses me off.

that one play cost us the superbowl. we easily would've beat NY in the dome and then took home the Lombardi again

That list is pretty terrible. They actually rank a Saints team that didn't get out of the first round higher than an LSU team that won a championship. If you want to say their regular season wins count against that team, why rank the 2009 Saints so high?

Defense wins championships

2009 Defense
points - 341 league ranking (20)
yds - 5724 league ranking (25)

2011 Defense
points - 339 league ranking (13)
yds - 5895 league ranking (24)

2009 had a lot more turnovers but everything else is a wash.

let's take a look at offense

2009 offense
points - 510 league ranking (1)
yds - 6461 league ranking (1)

2011 offense
points - 547 league ranking (2)
yds - 7474 league ranking (1) GOAT

so if we are gonna use one metric of turnovers the 2009 > 2011. if we gonna look at them objectively 2011 >>>> 2009

eta: I know you were joking (kind of) but this is more for c on z

etaa:

09 offensive turnovers - 28
11 offensive turnovers - 19

09 defensive turnovers - 39
11 defensive turnovers - 16

I'm not sure what was the better team.

2009 never got dominated. Even for the Cowboys game there was a shot of victory at the end.

The 2011@ Rams game was the worst game in the Payton-era (until 2013 @ Rams game). We had no business losing that. Utterly pathetic and hurt our seeding big time.

That 2011 Saints team should have won the SB that year.

The Rams just have our number. That kinda shite happens in sports all the time.

09 was destiny bc the were games we won that really we shoulda lost . Fins and Skins come to mind.

I remember that someone on the Saints board posted all kinda crazy shite about about the number 44, being that it was Super Bowl 44 and how that it was destiny for the Saints to win it.
