Go to Denver Ted's. Their Philly is one of my favorite meals of all time.

Being a family trip, I probably won't get enough of their weed over there to make that appear appetizing.

Thanks for the other recs, though.

I haven't been to Denver. Can imagine you can throw a dart at a map of downtown and hit a restaurant serving better food.

I'm visiting there in August .. be sure and come on back and write a couple reviews if you end up anymore really good.

I can get you a good list of places. My sister lives there and has become quite the foodie with her disposable income.

I had a fantastic meal at The Kitchen. The entire menu is farm to table seasonal. Make a reservation!

Foolish Craigs is pretty popular. It was on DDD if that means anything to you. It's pretty good "cafe" food with Beers and such.

If you happen to venture into Denver, I really like Osteria Marco. Its GREAT italian food. They have house made cheeses that are pretty damn good.

I think about their Fig Pizza almost every time I have pizza: Fig Speck, Goat Cheese, Fontina, Black Mission Figs, Arugula

I second the Kitchen. Backcountry Pizza is a cool spot. I also really like Bru in Boulder.

You should go to Lyons and visit Oskar Blues. It is kid friendly and just cool with decent food and great beer. Also St Vrain in Lyons has great sandwiches that are awesome to pick up then eat in Rocky Mountain National Park after a hike.

If you are coming here expecting great food, then don't. We do beer, weed and outdoor activities better than anyone but the food is lacking.

Also if you do any hiking in the front range under 8000' keep an eye and an ear out for rattlesnakes, they have been pretty bad this year.

Eta- pizzeria locale is indeed legit and worth a visit
