How was he on defense?

ETA: On defense??? Sounds weird. I'll try again. How was he in the field?

What era did he play in?

If ever linked to steroid usage, nope.

If not, yes.

depends

how good is his defense, who did he play for, who was batting around him etc etc

just glancing at some stats is a terrible way of determining if a guy is HOF worthy.

I've changed my mind on letting guys on steroids into the hall. In my opinion, there's no way of knowing who used and who didn't, so I think anyone who significantly outperformed his peers should be in. That being said, anyone who tested positive after steroids were banned should be kept out.

With that being said, those are ten really good years. I would probably let him in, depending on what he did in the rest of his career.

Well the point is its anonymous. RBI production is about the only thing over a lifetime that could be skewed by who was batting around him. Lineup protection doesn't exist.

His defense wouldn't be a liability, but its not gonna add to his HOF case

If it's Belle, that might change things. Those stats are probably Hall-worthy but if you carried yourself horribly that might hurt you.

Other than the OPS and OPS+, none of that stands out as HOF worthy.

ETA: I missed the 10-year prime bit... that changes things a lot.

So other than possibly the best overall stat to measure a player's offensive value, nothing is HOF worthy, gotcha.
