Crappy experience but so far the pain is not too bad. Gave me some morphine right after.

There is apparently a new technique that allows the wound to be stitched up. So, no having to packing gauze inside the wound. The only thing you have to deal with is a drainage ball that has a line placed inside the incision. This will be removed Monday next week.

Hopefully this new technique works out without any complications. Also, It's suppose to help heal faster as well.

Got mine done in 2008. I had to deal with the gauze. Bastard.

Yeah, my son had this, but it didn't work out so well. It didn't heal properly and would not stop draining. Doc had to finally open it back up and do it the old fashioned packing way. Hope yours works out better.

They said to lay on my stomach or side for a week. Walking or standing up doesn't hurt. Can't drive until a week and then only a short time. Will still take about a month to completely heal

Had to do that twice with a cyst on the side of my head. Nothing like opening a wound to shove gauze in it

They're common as hell.

And they hurt like hell. I thought I broke my arse bone when I went to the doctor. I worked for a whole week with it because I thought it was my tailbone and they couldn't do anything about it anyway. Finally couldn't take it anymore and got it cut off the old fashioned way. That shite hurtttttttt. was able to go back to work 2 days later though.

What kind of surgery did you have? I had to have surgery a couple of years ago because of one and I was up driving two days later and on day three was riding around on a ztr cutting grass.
