If they bring guns then yea its a problem if not the English give zero fricks

You would think these worthless scumbags would get tired of having the English kick their asses.

I hope the English stomp mud holes in those worthless fricks

From watching that show on the Argentine and Brazilian gangs/hooligans, the Brittish better watch out. They love their guns down there.

I can't help but think I'd be pissed if I were an English fan. Not that they couldn't hold their own in a fight, but to spend all that money and time crossing the ocean to see my team and I have to spend time worrying about my livelihood if I am somehow separated from my group?

Of course it sucks when Ultras conflicts spill over onto regular fans.
However, it's no coincidence --even without the Falklands War history to step it up a notch-- that England Away is always charged with violence.

Its annoying that people still target England football fans, when 90% of our hooligans are banned from leaving the country when the WC is on

To be honest I have little idea about how England is traveling the past few years.
However, from personal experience, I don't really trust the press to give a well rounded account.
It seems that in the 90s the English press went overboard to beastialize English firms and then in perfect step with EPL's aggressive marketing strategy immediately pretended it was a thing of the past as soon as they had managed to push the violence a comfortable distance from the grounds.
Living in Rome for most of my life and having a record shop near the Lonsdale Shop and a few choice pubs, I've seen my fair share of dust ups and have very seldom seen the innocent alter boy bystanders to which the press often alludes be involved.
I'm not saying this is the same thing with Argentina-England either as there's certainly another level to that set of hostilities.

English fans behaviour in the '98 WC and '00 Euros has led to a big crackdown when it comes to stopping hooligans travelling, thousands have their passports taken away from them and many more are banned of even flying in any period around a tournament. While I'm not naive enough to think that any incident involving English fans is entirely 100 other faults, the thugs that still seem to be associated with our fans are long gone.
You hear stories about people travelling just to fight English fans(particularly in Italy and Turkey), that hasn't happened visa versa since the Leeds/Gala stabbings, because our police have actually tried to crack down. Where as Brazilian police have admitted they will know if suspect people are coming in through the air but they wont know otherways....which is ridiculous, get some fricking border patrols.
EDIT: If it could be agreed that it was purely be a fist fight, I'd actually be interested in letting just anyone go, I imagine it would be epic, and WorldStarHipHop.com would probably shut down through the traffic form new videos.

I think it's time to send a Milwall caravan to Brazil to even things up.

I was thinking the same thing. It's already a tough trip and to add this on top would suck

Ive seen the English do work first hand it was epic seeing 50 or so Chelsea fans take on a mass of FC Bayern fans.
If its no guns they would say bring it on but these South America Ultra groups shoot people.

I remember the Man Utd. vs. Roma game, when Roma fans started to attack. It seemed like the police were focused on the United fans and didn't even go into the Roma side of the barrier. Granted I just saw what they showed on TV and listened to sky sports and bbc accounts.
ETA: I want to say an English fan got stabbed outside the staduim.

People still want to try the english b/c of their past
another example of the Italian cops just letting the english fans take shite was Liverpool vs Juve about 8 or 9 years ago. All the good will Liverpool fans did in the first leg went to shite down in Juve.

Yup there was a stabbing, I've read a couple of books by the top boys of the 70s-80s and the one thing they all said was that when you went away to Italy you knew you had to take knives as they had no interest in purely hand to hand.
(There are also some epic stories of everyone stopping just to watch the 2 top guys on each side fight during half time, then simply walk off once the game started again)

Italian ultras are bad. There's no question about that.
The moralizing of the English over how their own are somehow so much better probably adds fuel to the fire more than anything.
The Italian police -- unlike their gung ho English counterparts who used to absolutely relish mixing it up with hooligans -- are infamous for taking a "frick if I'm getting involved with those nuts" approach.
It's not just with the English either. The Italian police are like that with all ultras as well as with random drunken brawls etc etc. . .
As much as it sucks for regular supporters, hooligans from Liverpool and Man U et al have done enough that it will take generations before any of their fans aren't asking for trouble by gathering in large groups and singing/chanting club songs through streets in Italy. The crazy hardcore Italian ultras see that as extremely provocatory.
The "stabbings" mentioned recently are usually a small thin blade in the buttocks to make sitting down painful. Roma hardcore ultras are infamous that stupid shite.
