I thought it was going to be a mistake, like when Christians quote Shakespeare and say it's from the bible, but nope. They gave proper credit.

quote:
The billboard, which as of Tuesday had been covered up, shows five smiling children and the Nazi leader's quote alongside them: "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future."

Not only did they quote him, but they signed his name.

What a bunch of dumbasses. Can't wait to hear their statement.

Well...the Jews killed Jesus

People shouldn't make their kids go to church. Let their brains develop before you hammer them with propaganda

Well it is a good cautionary quote in retrospect..perhaps that was their point

I'm sure they meant it as a cautionary statement, but how stupid do you have to be to look at that billboard and not think they're quoting him as if he's some kind of wise sage.
And it's fricking Alabama, so they really might have, thinking it would never blow up like this.

Yea the rainbow hallmark font is really offputting Just strange all around, to say the least

Just because Hitler said it makes it not true?

Because Hitler said it and they put it on a billboard with smiling kids, makes it really stupid. It's either really stupid at best or really racist and stupid at the least.

I think that's the general point that they were trying to make (evil people agree with Whitney Houston that the children are our future so watch out who you let influence them) but that will be completely lost on 194%* of the population.
* percentages are approximate

Sounds like something Obama would say.

Yes let the church shite in your child's brain before a bad person does it.

Technically it was an auburn billboard, geographically speaking. And they took took it down after all the backlash
This does beg the question though, should a true statement not be repeated if it is spoken by a psychopath? Just food for thought. If a billboard popped up tomorrow that said "Puppies are cute- Adolph Hitler" and it was accompanied by a picture of the cutest damn puppy you'd ever seen...would you be like "frick puppies" or "I didn't know Hitler had a soft side"
I'm genuinely curious, because I'm not sure what my own thoughts are on that
