It probably wasn't very wise to put a signature of Adolph Hitler on a billboard. Likely that will be the only take away for a large percentage of the population. It was however a completely true statement that does need to be considered more in this day and age.

See? I can do it too!!!

If a billboard popped up tomorrow that said "Puppies are cute- Adolph Hitler" and it was accompanied by a picture of the cutest damn puppy you'd ever seen...would you be like "frick puppies" or "I didn't know Hitler had a soft side"

Actually, Hitler adored his German Shepherds--until the moment he gave them cyanide.

Didn't a Pope or Catholic saint make a similar comment a few centuries ago? Something about give the church a child until he is six and basically he is indoctrinated for the rest of his life at that point? Whether it's Nazi propaganda or religious nonsense it's still the same propaganda. Kids should be raised with an open mind towards others and critical thinking skills and this would be a much healthier society. It's a creepy sign.

And the use of the term "Owns the Youth" just sums up my whole problem with religious wingnuts"

I actually get it really. The point they're making is, choose who influences your children because whomever does is of the utmost concern.

To be fair, less than half of those who see it will be able to read it.

They had meetings, internal discussions and debates, QC and artwork to approve AND THEN the advertising company blankly stared at their submission wondering when Ashton Kutcher would pop out or if Jamie Kennedy was so bored he was doing pranks off camera now.

THIS. It's our jobs as parents to introduce our kids to the worlds, warn them of it's pitfalls and advise them on how to be better people. "Own the youth"....Jesus Christ that's scary talk, how about teach compassion, acceptance and love to our youth as the good standard and see how this generation turns out

People shouldn't make their kids go to church. Let their brains develop before you hammer them with propaganda

Would you put off all instruction on beliefs about how to live until their brains are fully developed?

What could possibly go wrong with giving kids no moral instruction?

Also, was Hitler wrong in that quote? The wisdom of the quote is not affected by the fact that he used it for nefarious purposes.

As usual, the OT misses the point. SOMEBODY is teaching your kids about the world. It can either be you, based on what you believe about the world, or it can be their friends, their school, the TV, their iphone, etc.

Wow, good point. Good thing Christianity has been doing exactly that for 2,000 years or maybe you wouldn't be so sure about that being a good standard.

To be fair, and I know that TIGRLEE is a nutball......there are TONS of good quotes in Mein Kampf. The guy was brilliant.

Now, the only issue is that whole world domination/holocaust thing sort of did him in.
