Don't know about browser.

If it is possible for you to connect your laptop to a wired Ethernet cable instead of using wireless it will certainly help with the quality.

You can also stream it through an Xbox 360 via the Espn app. I did it last night, pretty high-quality.

I know lots of people who still use IE. Chrome is normally my go to browser, but the game streamed better using IE for me

Chrome all weekend with no problems. I used both a hardwire and wifi via Cox to connect and really didn't notice that much of a difference.
