Looking to get opinions on what rangefinders yall use or recommend. I dont need anything that reads slope, just want a point n shoot that basically "hits anything" to get distances on the golf course. Two that im looking at are BUSHNELL TOUR V3 RANGEFINDER W/ JOLT PINSEEKER and LASER LINK GOLF WHITE MAGIC LASER RANGEFINDER. Also are older models just as good, such as the Bushnell V2's?

There is your answer. I like those the best. Have a Bushnell hunting model, played with a friend that had the V3 & went get my own the next week.

My brother in law has the Bushnell Medalist, and it works perfectly for us. I'm not sure what the more expensive models so that make them worth almost double. JMO of course.

I have a Leupold.

Best one I've seen or used.
Get one around 400 bucks

I bough the v2 when the v3 came out. THe only difference between the two is that the 3 vibrates when you lock onto the pin. The v2 only visually shows you when you lock onto the pin. Both lock onto the pin so why spend the extra money for a vibrating one?

The V2 is really good. I have the Nikon that Callaway slapped their name on 4 or so years ago and still works good for me.

Eta: if you are looking for something to just read distance, save some money and buy an earlier model Bushnell. Most all of their stuff from the last 7-8 years is still tough to beat.

Definitely go with Bushnell.

I have the V2, and have used the V3. The V2 is fine if you can find it for a good price.

I've got a Leo. Seen reviews where out of warranty units were replaced with new for the service cost. Can't beat that kind of service.

I use my Nikon prostaff 3 for both hunting and golf. No flame question: Why would you want 2 different rangefinders? I've played with friends who had golf-specific versions and didn't see any significant benefit.

I have this one (with slope) and my only regret is not getting it sooner. When I did my research, many people said they bought a cheap one, but ended up buying the nice one later on. Was advised to skip the middle cheap step and get the good one first. I love it, my buddies love it when we play, and I would have a hard time playing without it now

This is what I have and it works great. I've had it about 3 years or so.

I like to keep all of my hunting equipment together at our camp. Had forgotten it a few times when we went to shoot guns in the off season. I would also pick up a lot of trees behind the greens on the course, so I thought it would be good to have one for each.

All the hunting ones I've seen used are usually inferior to golf specific rangefinders on locking into pins.

Also, for someone who plays golf and hunts enough to need rangefinders probably is able to afford two rangefinders for convenience. Both are pretty expensive hobbies.

The biggest thing I've found problematic with these rangefinders is that they a require a battery.
