I've come to face the harsh realization that I am losing my hair at the young age of 25. I've always thought this was an "old" person problem and wouldn't have to worry about it for another 20-30 years. But over the last year I went from a full head of hair to noticeable thinning on the scalp and balding on the crown.

What does the OT do?

- Fight it and explore treatment options (medical, surgical, etc)?

- Accept it and start shaving my head?

- Not give a damn and continue as is?

Don't know if I would want to commit to taking something for the rest of my life.

Hang in there. I used to fret every time I took a shower and would see all the hair I left behind.

My best friend and college roommate would laugh and assure me that I would go bald before him -- as his hair also seemed to be "thinning".

Well, I'm in my mid 40's and it's still hanging in there. It's grey and "thinning," but I really haven't lost anything since I was 23. I've got a SMALL thin spot in the back which is barely noticeable (which I could probably "cure" with Rogain), but other than that, my hairline is right where it was when I was 23.

My best friend had a full horseshoe by the time he was 28. Karma is a B!TCH!

ETA: If you do go bald, don't fight it. Just get a military haircut and keep it real short. I know tons of woman who think that Ed Harris is one of the sexiest men in Hollywood.

relax, man...just cut it short and let it ride...

really the only folks that baldness bothers is those who have hair that are worried about losing it...once you are bald, it is not really a problem at all...

I lost hair for a while then all of a sudden it stopped. Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

My advice, when the bangs become an island, shave it and pick out a facial hair style
