This place and Red Dragon L R - great concept, horrible locations.

Sidenote: you missed ZeeZee's last night by the way. Some crackhead mom took her shirt off and then stood in the middle of the road on the overpass for like an hour

I never thought location was an issue at all.

Baton Rouge'd - virtually no cab service, very unwalkable

Yep. Sucks, because they booked very refreshing acts for BR.

Pretty shitty excuse for a city with 230,000+ people

Disclaimer: I had a blast my 4.5 years at LSU. You have to realize the shortcomings of the city, especially when it directly impacts you.

What, you're tired of 90's bro metal, country, and Molly Ringwalds?

I never made it to M&W. How did it compare in size to Chelsea's? I feel they were too similar (in size and vibe) and it is hard to compete with an established venue like that.

No not really.

It was smaller than Chelsea's but it booked a lot more and better acts. I think the big thing was that it was located kind of by itself. Like there aren't any bars around M+W for pre/post game.

I do but I don't feel the need to preach it on a daily basis

I blame TheDoc for only pushing Varsity acts.

guys .... hold on a second. We didn't go out of business ..... I made a tough decision to take the brand out of the space because of an inability to formalize a contract and some other seriously troubling factors. The bar was supporting itself and turning a little profit.

We could have kept going, but my staff and i have had enough. I will be producing shows at various venues around town until something else materializes. And I am getting in full swing at my new place in NOLA.

I have booked for the next few months in BR: Brother Dege (Chelseas) The Donkeys (Red Star), Matt Woods, Bishop Allen, Richard Buckner, The Rural Alberta Advantage to name a few.

thanks for your support and still follow us on FB and look for my updates. I don't walk away from something with out a plan.
