Finally got around to watching this on Memorial Day.

To be honest, it blew me away. De Niro was fantastic. He and Cooper are the best on screen duo since Damon/Williams in Good Will Hunting.

Plus, Jennifer Lawrence

I loved the indy feel it had to it. Can't believe it took me so long to watch it.

Yeah, great movie. De Niro and Cooper are great. My wife laughed when she saw it and said, "That's you and your dad when you talk about LSU." I'm sure that's true for many fathers and sons.

I really don't get it. I thought this movie was terrible and stupid. I guess I just couldn't relate to the crazy and everything seemed forced.

I thought American Hustle was a good movie, but the acting is definitely what stood out more than anything.

The character developments are what did it for me.

As the movie progresses, Cooper gets saner and De Niro gets crazier.

And then with Cooper & Lawrence, to watch them cope with their situations and watching that whole thing build...man it was fantastic casting

I'll say that Jennifer Lawrence's arse was forced into those skin-tight running pants and daddy enjoyed.

It was a surprisingly good movie though. I'd recommend it to anyone.

it was an above average movie compared to most crap that is put out but the acting performances are what made it that imo. the plot really dragged and wasn't really that interesting to me

Great movie.

The Dance Performance was great after all that build up.

I thought it was really tacked on. That they just end up together, happily ever after is ridiculous. Typical David O' Russell fluff.

Although I really loved the movie, and the characters in it were portrayed extremely well, I do understand the argument that the ending is extremely formulaic.

You knew the outcome of the dance competition and you knew how Cooper and Lawrence were going to end up.

Great movie overall though and everyone who won an award for it deserved it.

I didn't care for the movie...I felt like they torched a lot of the great elements from the book, so my opinion is skewed a little bit.

I love movies, but I'm not one to really evaluate how well each actor performs. I can recognize awkward or bad acting, but as long as it's pretty good, I'm not concerned with it.

I realized I was watching greatness though, when I saw Silver Linings Playbook. Holy shite they absolutely nailed their roles.

I love SLP and AH (SLP more). Russell knows how to work with actors and bring the best out of them. That's for sure. I actually was somewhat underwhelmed with Hustle the first time I saw it. I watched it again recently and thought it was MUCH better than I originally did.

Honestly can't fathom the love for this movie.

The shoehorned horrific gambling plot / dance contest makes this one step removed from an 80s lets save the Community Center movie.

Sure there is some good acting but the plot is horrible from A to Z.

Yay, we won the money for the community center and all is well even though we still have bi-polar mental issues.

Harkens me back to Little Miss Sunshine. Suicide attempt. Fracked up son. Grandpa dies.

But that is all ok because the ugly girl did the stripper dance in the talent contest.
