To take pictures with the Saints players arguing against the WC bill. It's noted that, once again, he refused all interview requests.

While ideologically much better than his predecessor, Blanco, at least she wasn't scared of a few questions.

Glad he could at least show up at the Capitol during session. Maybe he can stay more than a day.

Guess that explains why Drew Brees was at the BR walkons last night.

At least she showed up.

Again, ideologically, didn't like her. Never voted for her, and still to this day despise her husband.

But it would be nice to have a Governor willing to TRY and engage with local and state media rather than interaction via a press secretary.

Sad that this should be newsworthy.

I wonder if he had the pilots keep the plane running during his visit so he could make a quick getaway?

And if he were in the middle of the House floor meddling with the bills up for vote, everyone would have a problem with that too...

Of course, the answer is somewhere in the middle. But I think too many of y'all play into the rhetoric the Advocate and TP play up.

Ehh...every Governor will use staffers for that.

I think it's more of his lack of availability/responsiveness to local and state media. Will they always give him a fair shake? Probably not. But that shouldn't be a reason to be as non-existent as he has been. Fox News isn't going to ask him about specifics with the state budget and other legislation, so the only way we can hear it from his mouth is for him to talk with the media within Louisiana.

Maybe...but he better learn now how to communicate directly with members of the media who lean to the Left, because Michelle Millhollon and Melinda Deslatte are a hell of alot gentler than the national hornets.

No big deal ... but, I'm pretty sure it's "capital" vice "Capitol" ... as there is only one "Capitol" in the U.S. ... i.e. the place where a bunch of other shitbirds get nothing productive done.

At least that is what I was told in 9th Grad Civics.... except the part about the shitbirds, I added that.

What exactly is this bill ?

Did you read your link?

quote:

Capitol has two very specific definitions (outside ancient Rome): (1) a U.S. state legislature building, and (2) the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

The Louisiana State Capitol Building is in the capital city of Baton Rouge.

The Capitol building located in Washington, D.C. is spelled with a capital C, but state capitol buildings ordinarily don’t have the capital C (which is not to say that some writers don’t capitalize them anyway).

Perhaps this is what I was remembering.

When explicitly named Louisiana State Capitol Building, it's a proper noun and should be capitilzed.

If its just Jindal showed up at the capitol today...then the lowercase is fine.

The Saints were pushing a WC..workers compensation...bill that was favorable to the Saints. The bill was wanting to determine a players average weekly wage based on what he was actually earning at the time of the accident. The NFLPA & the Saints' players wanted it calculated by a player's total earnings in a yr and/or over the length of the contract. BJ had nothing to say re the merits of the bill; he simply wanted his picture taken as a photo op for his campaign down the road. He promptly jetted back out of the city afterwards.
