im talking about that hunting itch due to it being summer and no hunting season! It just hit me this weekend, not sure why. I rode the atv through the woods to check out my summer plots and mineral sites (which look amazing) and it hit me like a brick wall! Im now burning up for huntung season i fish also, pretty much every weekend and enjoy it.. but it isnt hunting. It doesnt give me the same satisfaction that hunting does. I like being in the woods on a quiet cool morning waiting on that big buck to step out, noting like it! So anyway, 3 more months until dove season and 4 until bow season

Every morning when I drive by like 20 wood ducks and the occasional mallards + hens eating all the feed my neighbor puts out.

One shot and I can have like half of them down.

And all the canadian geese, sometimes I just want to throw open my truck door and whack one in the face. I really want to blast one next year.

Beginning of August knowing dove season is right around the corner, but I keep it pretty well itched with hogs and varmints during the summer. Hopefully will be making a trip down to the ranch in the next few weeks to do just that.

I wish i had hogs and such to keep the itch down during the summer. I have nothing to hunt! We have coyotes and predators but my land isnt set up for calling, its thick and woods. I normally dont get to excited until late july when i start working on dove fields, but being in the woods this weekend hit me hard

Fishing is about to be in full swing so I will be occupied with it for at least a couple months.

I've got the itch to go to the camp in the Texas Hill Country and hunt axis. June-July is the time of year we usually kill the big boys. Hoping to go before June 9th or during Fourth of July weekend as the 4th is on a Friday this year

When I get burned out on golf and tired of the heat. I'll start shooting my bow toward the end of August usually.

eta: the first dove hunt usually sends me into overdrive

It probably has to do with being the only axis buck we have had left for the past 5 years, but he drops his antlers at the same time as our whitetails. He probably only has about 8-10" spikes at this point and peaks in the winter. We found both of his sheds when we were down there for Easter, he isn't what he used to be

This, when I pay the dues and make that big work weekend in June.

Just found out yesterday we might be losing the biggest part of my local lease....

Usually when we're a week or two into football season and it gets to where it's not warm enough to go to the lake.
